Picnics have become big business around the country and, with an abundance of parks, scenic views, and other idyllic settings, particularly so here in Houston.

We’ve gathered 7 of our favorite spots to sit outside and enjoy an afternoon nosh with good friends, that special someone, or even solo.

Eleanor Tinsley Park

This gently sloping park offers some of Houston’s best skyline views. Feeling extra romantic or sentimental? Leave a lock at the pedestrian bridge spanning Allen Parkway.

Buffalo Bayou Park

With 160 acres spanning more than two miles along meandering Buffalo Bayou, Buffalo Bayou Park is a no-brainer for picnicking among greenery with up-close city views. A short walk on most of the park’s trails will lead you to an open grassy area that’s picnic perfect.

The Clay Family Eastern Glades is one of the latest additions to Memorial Park.

Afterward, enjoy a walk along the Hines Lake Boardwalk.

River Oaks Park
